LED work lights solved almost every weakness of halogen lighting — except one that only appears in winter. LEDs emit very little heat through the lens, so in heavy snowfall and freezing spray the optic can crust over with ice that an old halogen lamp would simply have melted. Our heated LED snow plow lights answer this with a heated lens: a 15W heating element runs with the lamp and keeps the optical surface clear in sub-zero conditions, so light output never drops mid-shift. The catalogue model is a combination heated plow headlight with low beam, high beam, turn and position in one housing; for machines that never see hard winters, our standard sealed LED work lights remain the simpler choice.
When a heated lens is worth specifying
Heated models carry a price premium over standard sealed lights, so put them where they earn it:
- Climate — Fleets that work through sustained sub-zero temperatures and regular snowfall, not the occasional cold snap.
- Machine role — Snow plows, spreaders, and winter-service vehicles cannot stop mid-route for the operator to climb down and scrape a lens.
- Mounting position — Forward-facing lamps take the full load of driven snow and slush thrown off the road; sheltered rear or cab locations often manage without heating.
How heated lens technology works
A 15W resistive heating element bonded to the lens warms the optical surface whenever the lamp is on, shedding falling snow before it packs and preventing ice from bonding to the polycarbonate. There is no lens thermostat to fail. The heater runs from the same 9–32V DC input as the light itself, so no extra wiring or control box is needed on 12V or 24V vehicles; plan the circuit for 75W per lamp with high beam and heater together. The combination snow plow headlight pairs this de-icing lens with high and low beams, turn signal and position light, replacing the separate headlight and work lamp on the front of a plow truck with a single unit.
Built for winter service
Heated LED lights face the harshest duty cycle in vehicle lighting: freeze–thaw cycling, road salt, and constant slush spray. These lights use sealed IP67–IP69K housings, potted drivers that shrug off vibration from chained tyres and rough frozen roads, and stainless steel brackets that resist salt corrosion. Typical users are commercial trucks and trailers on winter routes and forestry and utility vehicles working frozen ground through the season.

The catalogue range is deliberately compact — one proven combination headlight — because much of our heated-lens work is OEM: the same de-icing lens technology can be engineered into other housing sizes and form factors for your market. Standard MOQ is 60 pieces per model with 15–25 working day lead times, and 1–5 samples are available first so you can put them through a real winter before committing. How does the heated lens work?
A 15W heating element bonded to the lens runs whenever the lamp is on and keeps the optical surface above the point where snow and slush bond, so the optic stays clear during plowing without a thermostat to fail.
Are these certified for road plow use?
The combination headlight covers low beam, high beam, turn signal and position light in one lamp. FMVSS 108 / ECE test documentation for your market is available on request — tell us where the trucks will be registered.
Do they draw a lot of extra power?
The heater draws 15W, or 1.25A at 12V, whenever the lamp is on. Size the circuit for high beam plus heater together: 75W, or 6.25A at 12V, per lamp.
When should a fleet choose heated lenses over standard lights?

Do heated lights keep working in freezing rain and slush?
Yes — the lens element keeps the optical surface above freezing, so freezing rain, wet snow, and thrown slush shed before they can bond as ice. Request a quote for 1–5 samples and prove them through a real winter first.
