Deutsch Connector (DT, DTM and DTP Series)
A Deutsch connector is a sealed thermoplastic multi-pin connector system from TE Connectivity used throughout off-road vehicle wiring. DT, DTM and DTP differ by contact size and current rating, and they reach IP68 and IP6K9K only as inline pairs with rear protection such as a backshell.
On machinery the connector, not the lamp housing, is usually where water gets in. Deutsch connectors use a rubber grommet on the wire side and a silicone seal at the interface, which is why they are the default on agricultural and construction harnesses.
Ratings by series
DT — size 16 contacts, 250 VAC/VDC, −55 °C to +125 °C. Current derates with wire size: 13 A at 14 and 16 AWG, 10 A at 18 AWG, 7.5 A at 20 AWG (TE product specification 108-151009). Quoting "13 A" without the wire size overstates the rating for thinner cores.
DTM — size 20 contacts, 250 VDC, −55 °C to +125 °C, or +150 °C for DTMH. 7.5 A at 16 to 20 AWG, dropping to 5.0 A at 22 AWG (108-151010).
DTP — size 12 contacts, 25 A continuous, 10 to 14 AWG, −55 °C to +125 °C. Available in 2 and 4 pin only.
The IP rating has conditions attached
TE specifies IP68 and IP6K9K for inline plug and receptacle pairs with rear protection such as a backshell. PCB-mounted headers and flanged versions are marked "Not Tested" in the same document. A lamp that terminates in a header is therefore not covered by the inline figure, whatever the catalogue says.
Vibration
The DT series is tested to MIL-STD-1344 Method 2005.1: a sinusoidal sweep from 10 to 2000 Hz at up to 20 G, four hours in each of three axes, with the circuit monitored for discontinuity. That is the connector’s figure, not the lamp’s — see vibration rating for how to read a lamp-level number.
All Tough Lighting harnessed lamps use Deutsch-pattern sealed connectors; see heavy duty work lights for the wash-down duty cycles.

An IP (Ingress Protection) rating is a two-digit code defined by IEC 60529 that specifies how well an enclosure resists dust (first digit) and water (second digit). IP69K is the highest rating, covering high-pressure, high-temperature wash-down.
Potted DriverA potted driver is a lamp’s electronic driver circuit fully encapsulated in resin (potting compound), protecting it against vibration, moisture and thermal cycling — the three killers of vehicle lamp electronics.
