A tractor that goes back out after dark for planting or harvest carries eight to twelve lamps, and each of them meets field dust, slurry, spray chemicals and the pressure washer in the same week. What agricultural OEMs ask about first

Lamp positions on a cab tractor

A cab tractor working at night carries eight to twelve lamps in six positions, and each position asks for a different output and beam. The table pairs each position with the models most often specified there; the direct-fit models keep the original bracket and plug of the machine. All run on 9–32 V DC.

Lamp positions on a combine and a sprayer

Harvesters and sprayers carry the same lamp family in different places. On a combine the light has to follow the crop from the header to the trailer alongside; on a sprayer it has to show the nozzles, which is why the boom lamps are blue.

How an OEM programme runs

There are two routes, depending on whether your drawing calls for a lamp we already build or a new part.

Direct-fit and private label. Any of the 103 direct-fit models, or the 300-plus lights in the wider catalogue, can be supplied under your brand from 60 pieces per model, with your logo, packaging, connector and cable length. Samples ship first, typically within 1 to 5 days, and production runs in 15 to 25 working days.

Custom development. Where the mounting position, beam or housing is new, we develop the lamp to your requirement: design in 7 to 15 days, a 3D-printed prototype in 5 to 7 working days, production tooling in 30 to 45 days and pre-production samples in 7 to 10 working days, with the first bulk shipment four to five months from design start. Tooling is shared and amortised into the unit price, or funded by you for a lower unit cost, and products developed for you can be covered by an exclusivity agreement.

Testing we do in house

The equipment behind the status table sits in our own factory, which is what lets us answer a specification line with a report rather than a promise.

Vibration table for broadband random profiles, run to the profile on your drawing: the header on a combine and the baler behind a tractor set the profile, and the report follows it.

Thermal shock chamber, salt spray chamber and dust chamber for the environmental lines: fertiliser and crop chemicals are covered by the salt spray and washdown lines of the specification rather than by a claim.

Photometric darkroom for beam pattern and intensity, so the flood, spot or cut-off on the drawing is measured rather than assumed.

EMC anechoic chamber for radiated emissions to CISPR 25, the test behind the class we quote per model in the documentation pack.

Reports from these tests are issued per model on request. Where a line calls for third-party type approval, such as ECE R10, we hold the approval for the four models in the first table and can route further models through the same laboratory. Road approval documents for headlamps and signal lamps are supplied on request.

Guidance receivers and electronics on the same roof

A tractor roof now carries a GPS guidance receiver and an ISOBUS terminal within reach of the work lamps, and a lamp driver that passes on the bench can still put noise into the receiver beside it on the machine. That is why the EMC line matters more on a tractor than on most machines, and why we measure radiated emissions in our own chamber rather than reading them from a driver data sheet. Which tractor and harvester brands do your direct-fit lamps cover?

We build 103 direct-fit models carrying the OEM part numbers of John Deere, Case IH, New Holland, Kubota and Massey Ferguson machines, and universal models for the positions the direct-fit range does not cover. Send the make, model and mounting position, or the OEM part number of the lamp being replaced, and we will confirm the match.

Can one part number cover our 12 V tractors and 24 V harvesters?

Yes. The range runs on 9–32 V DC, so one part number serves 12 V tractors and 24 V harvesters without a converter, and the spares list for a mixed fleet halves.

What vibration and environmental test reports can you provide?

We run your vibration profile on our in-house table and issue the report per model, together with thermal shock, salt spray and dust results where the specification calls for them. We do not quote one figure for the whole range, because a figure without its frequency band is not a specification.

Which colour temperature do you build for cab-tractor work lights?

5000–5700 K as standard, which is the white operators report working under best over a long shift, with other colour temperatures to order. Rear and side positions can carry cut-off optics developed to your specification so the beam stays on the ground and out of other people's eyes.

Do you hold road approvals for headlamps and signal lamps?

Four round work lamp models hold ECE R10 approval: 40 W, 50 W, 60 W and 90 W. For headlamps, tail lamps and amber signal lamps, the road approval documents for your market are supplied on request per model, and CE and E-Mark documentation with them.

What is the minimum order and lead time for an OEM programme?

Direct-fit and private-label lamps ship from 60 pieces per model in 15 to 25 working days, after samples that typically ship within 1 to 5 days. A custom-developed lamp reaches first bulk shipment four to five months from design start, with a 3D-printed prototype in the first two to three weeks.
