These lamps automatically prevent snow and ice buildup with a sensor that monitors the lens and activates an internal heating element when its temperature falls too low. How do we choose beam patterns and wattages for our machines?
As a rule of thumb, spot beams throw light far ahead for driving and boom work, while flood beams cover the working area around the machine; 40-100W suits cab and implement mounting, and 100W+ covers large areas.
